Upper Abdominal Pain Left Quadrant

why do I have left upper quadrant abdominal pain?

A localized upper left pain will only generally be generated by pulled muscles or if you have a history of a stomich ulcer. Generally, that area is the least worry for an abdominal pain, but you should always get checked out if its bad.

It will not be an appendix related issue. Appendicitus will either not be localized at first, but when it does localize, will always be in the lower right area of the abdomen. Generally just at the top of where your triangle of pubic hair’s top corner is.

I only raised the appendix issue because its most often misconcieved.

Left Upper Quadrant Abdominal Pain

Recurrent abdominal pain?

For quite a long time, I have had this persistent abdominal pain in the upper and lower quadrants of my left abdomen. Sometimes the pain radiates into my back, the entire left side. Sometimes it goes down to my groin. I have had an abdominal ultrasound which came back normal except for some extra blood in my cul de sac. My doctor doesn’t think that there’s anything seriously wrong with me because my blood came back good and I’ve done a fecal occult test and a digital rectal exam which came back normal. I am scheduled to do an IVP early next year. I don’t think my problem is reproductive as my organs were normal on the ultrasound and the pain is always there, not just during my period. Sometimes its really bad but for the most part it is a dull, throbbing ache. I have no idea what it is and it is worrying me… anyone have any insights.
Also at times there is some itching at certain areas that seem to be under the skin.
My abdominal and pelvic ultrasound showed up normal.

Have your liver checked out, sometimes liver disease gives you pain and itchiness
