Severe stomach pain, Already went to the ER?
I woke up and had sever abdominal discomfort last night. I tried to make myself throw up, thinking I ate something bad, but with no relief. I have no diarrhea, stools are slightly soft though. I went to the ER and they did some blood work, and a urine sample, and then just sent me home – they found no real cause for it. (Although they did not do a stool sample). Nothing with liver, pancreas, etc.
I got home and the pain was very severe, I finally took something for it and it went away, its slightly back now (24 hours later) but its not debilitating like it was earlier. The pain is above my belly button, just below my xiphoid process and can radiate all over, including my lower back.
They say it might have been the stomach flu, but this was some intense pain. They did a fluid bolus in me and I almost felt instant relief after I got about 1000 ml in me, but then it just came right back afterwords.
Any ideas?
It sounds like biliary colic, which is a sign of gallstones. Did they ultrasound your abdomen? That’s how my gallstones were discovered.
